Itinerary:
Day 1: Dibrugarh
Arrive at Dibrugarh Airport. Check in to Mancotta Tea Heritage Bungalow, situated amongst tea gardens. Rest of the day will be free to unwind and relax.
Day 2: Dibrugarh
After breakfast leave for a tea tour and learn all the secrets and technics of tea production. Return for Lunch. Evening will be dedicated to the visit Dibrugarh town, the tea capital of India.
Day 3: Dibrugarh
Feel free to stroll around the tea gardens and enjoy the laid back lifestyle. It is amazing to realize, when wandering around those exploitations, how relaxing tea gardens are. Evening cultural Bihu show will be organized, performed by the locals.
Day 4: Dibrugarh - Johrat
After breakfast, leave for Johrat (3 hours). On the road, visit the historical town of Sivsagar and get to see the ancient ruins of the Ahom Dynasty that ruled Assam for 600 years. Feel the weight of years and witness the leftovers of a former powerful state that slowly declined in the memories after its fall. Stay at over a century old Tea Bungalow at Johrat.
Day 5: Johrat
Take a tour around tea estates and visit a Primate Sanctuary where seven species of primates are found, including the shy Hoolock Gibbon. The region is famous for its primate population, fascinating as they have so many common points with us. Entering their realm is a wonderful experience. Evening will be free. Bon-fire can be lightened on request.
Day 6: Johrat - Dibrugarh
Drive back to Dibrugarh (3 hours) for a flight back home.
