The Land of the Naga Tour

Nagaland is one of the most fascinating states of northern India and has recently been opened to the outside world. Land of sixteen indigenous tribes, Nagaland is commonly called "the land of festivals."



Day 1: Dibrugarh.

Arrival at Dibrugarh airport. This city is known as the capital of Assam tea which is grown in areas around Dibrugarh. Free evening to explore the city market.


Day 2: Dibrugarh - Mon

After breakfast, departure for Mon (5-6 hours) land of the Konyak tribe, which are known for their tattooed faces, wood carvings, and high-precision pistols. Overnight at the hotel.


Day 3: Excursion to the villages of Konyaks

Visit the Konyak villages. You will visit their homes, meet members of the tribe, and learn more about the Konyak Naga culture. You will also have the chance to visit the village of Lungwa, half of which is in Myanmar. See local crafts and war trophies. Overnight in Mon.


Day 4: Excursion to the surrounding villages

After breakfast, visit the village of Chanmoho where it is common to see people with tattooed faces. Later you will proceed to Chiu Village, known for its ancient traditional houses. Overnight in Mon.


Day 5: Mon - Mokokchung

After breakfast, drive to Mokokchung (5-7 hours), home of the Ao tribe. Overnight at the hotel.


Day 6: Exploration of Mokokchung and neighboring villages.

 Visit the villages of Impur, Moponchuket, Chungtia and Aliba to allow you to observe the life of the Ao, visit their homes and learn more about their customs. At Aliba, you will see the largest wooden drum in Nagaland. Overnight in Mokokchung.


Day 7: Mokokchung - Touphema

After breakfast, drive to Touphema (5 hours), land of the Angamis Enroute, visit the tribal villages, such as Ungma which is one of the oldest villages of Naga. Then visit the villages of Lothas and Rengmas. Overnight at the community cottage in Touphema.


Day 8: Visit of Touphema and the neighboring villages.

Visit the tribal houses and learn about the Angami culture. Short treks are possible. Overnight in Touphema.


Day 9: Touphema - Kohima - Khonoma

Early departure to visit the city of Kohima. Later in the day, transfer to the village of Khonoma which is the local center of the struggle for the recognition of rights of the natives. The inhabitants work hard to protect their environment. Interactive meeting with villagers. Night will be in a tribal cottage.


Day 10: Khonoma and its surroundings

Full day exploration of Khonoma and its surroundings. Interact with the tribe, see tribal architecture houses and take part in the activities of the village. Possibility of hiking in the forest.


Day 11: Khonoma to Dimapur

After breakfast, departure to Dimapur (3-4 hours) for a return flight. End of our services.
