The Poonhill Trekking

The Poonhill trekking is especially suitable for those who, unfortunately, do not have much time left on hand. This trek through the forests of rhododendrons and bamboo and takes us to the villages of the Gurung and Magar ethnicities.

 

We specialize in organizing treks in Nepal, which are unique and off the beaten touristic track!

 

Day 1: Welcome to Nepal

Arrival at Tribhuvan airport in Kathmandu (1340 meters), a warm welcome by our representative and transfer to hotel. Time to visit Durbar Square.

Day 2: Kathmandu

Time to visit the stunning Boudhanath Stupa, the most important Buddhist cultural center in Kathmandu, as many Tibetan refugees stopped at this resort, creating over 50 Gompa (Tibetan monasteries). Since 1979, Boudhanath is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Day 3: Pokhara

Pokhara is a place of extraordinary natural beauty. Located at an altitude lower than Kathmandu, the city offers a more tropical atmosphere and the flora more varied, with beautiful lakes and breathtaking views of Himalayan peaks.

Day 4: Pokhara - Nayapul - Tikhedhunga

Departure from Pokhara to Nayapul (1070m.), One and a half hours by car. Nayapul is the starting point of the trek. Following the Modi River, you will walk past the rhododendrons in bloom and cross a small stream. You will go Birethanti after about half an hour of hiking and arrive at Tirkhedhunga.

Day 5: Tikhedhunga - Ghorepani (2750 m) - 7 hours

Steep trekking for about 2 hours will take you to Ulleri (2070m). Cross the village of Banthanti of Magar where you can enjoy spectacular views of the Machhapuchhre Mountain (6997m), the Hiunchuli Mountain (6441m) and the Annapurna (7219m). Cross the small river and climb to Nangethanti. You will arrive in Ghorepani where you can admire the Dhaulagiri, Hiunchuli, Annapurna I and other mountains.

Day 6: Ghorepani - Tadapani (2590 m.) 6 hours

A very early start to reach the Poonhill base. About an hour uphill will take you to Poonhill's belvedere. You can see the sunrise on Mount Dhaulagiri (8167 m), Annapurna I (8091 m), Annapurna II (7937 m), Annapurna III (7855 m), Annapurna IV Mountain (7525 m) Annapurna South Mountain (729 m), Nilgiri Mountain 6940m), Tukuche Mountain (6920m), VarahaShikhar (7847m), LamjungHimal (6931m) and other mountains. Go back to Ghorepani Hotel for breakfast and then take the trail to get off at the village of Tadapani where you can have spectacular views over Annapurna South, Annapurna II, Fishtail and other mountains.

Day 7: Tadapani- Ghandruk (1940 m.) 4 hours

4 hours easy walk through the forest of oaks, rhododendrons and other alpine flowers will take you to the Gurung village of Ghandruk where you will relax a little while visiting the heavenly place underneath the Annapurna.

Day 8: Ghandruck- Nayapul (1000 m.) 5 hours- Pokhara

From Ghandruk, we will descend through a rhododendron forest and reach Birethanti. Descend along Modi Khola until you reach Nayapul where you will take the car to reach Pokhara in one hour.

Day 9: Pokhara

Pokhara is a place of extraordinary natural beauty. Located at an altitude lower than Kathmandu, the city offers a more tropical atmosphere and the flora more varied, with beautiful lakes and breathtaking views of Himalayan peaks.

Boat ride on the lake Pewha Tal. Walk along the lake and visit the Women Skill Development Project Pokhara, an NGO founded in 1975 by four women to support women's literacy and training.

Day 10: Kathmandu

Road to Kathmandu. Transfer to hotel in afternoon. The rest of this day will be free.

Day 11: Goodbye

Transfer to the airport and end of our services.
