The Tengboche Monastery Trekking

The Tengboche Monastery Trekking is one of the most loved trekking trails in the Everest region, especially for those who love exploring Buddhism and the treasures of its followers. Enjoy the most spectacular mountainous landscape on the face of this Earth. Along the way you can spend the night in comfortable lodges run by the fascinating Sherpas who are known for their hard work and stamina.

Day 1: Welcome to Nepal

Arrival at Tribhuvan airport in Kathmandu (1340 meters), a warm welcome by our representative and transfer to hotel. Time to visit Durbar Square.

Day 2: Lukla-Phakdhing- 4 hours

Early morning transfer to Kathmandu National Terminal to take flight to Lukla (2810m / 9216ft). The flight time is about 45 minutes. Your trekking begins from Lukla. The path passes through the Sherpa village and yak pastures. Lunch at ThadoKoshi (2591m) with a wonderful view of KumKangaru (6370m). You will see the painted wall Hani in the village of Ghat (chhuthawa). In the late afternoon arrive at Phakding.

Day 3: Phakdhing - NamcheBazaar-6 hours

Cross a long suspended bridge over the Dhudh Koshi River, which originates from the Khumbu Glacier. Today you will enter the Sagarmatha National Park in the village of Monjo. The trail continues along the Dudhakoshi River. You cross another suspended bridge at Larja Dobhan (2830m). From here the path goes steeply through the pine forest. After half an hour of steep walk you will see Mt Everest (8848m). The trail rises up to Namche Bazaar through the forest. You will be pleased to see Namche Bazaar, which is near the Everest Base Camp. Stay here two nights.

Day 4: Acclimatization Day

The day off at Namche Bazaar is particularly suitable for altitude acclimatization. Today, you can walk around Namche Bazaar. Here you can find many services such as bank, internet, bakery and other shopping. After breakfast, one and half hour steep walk towards Syangboche (3880m). From Syangboche you can see Mount Everest (8848m), Lhotse (8516m), Ama Dablam (6814m), Thamserku (6618m) and other mountains. It's time to enjoy a tea or coffee and set off for half an hour to Khumjung village (3780m), a Sherpa village. Sherpas are known to be the best climbers in the world. In the village of Khumjung you can visit Kumjung Hillary School and Kumjung Gompa. After lunch go back to Namche Bazaar.

Day 5: Namche Bazar-Tengboche -6 hours

After breakfast in the morning the journey continues with passing through villages, Buddhist monasteries, bridges and some waterfalls. Continue to Tengboche.

Day 6: Tengboche-Namche - 5 hours

Today, travel to Namche Bazar. The first part of the route directly goes through the Rhododendron forest and the pine forest. The trail rises slightly over Namche via Trashinga and Sanasa.

Day 7: Namche- Lukla -7 hours

Head towards Lukla. There is something very special in the environment, the villages and populations of the Khumbu hills and valleys.

Day 8: Lukla-Kathmandu

Flight to Kathmandu. Transfer to hotel. The rest of this day will be free.

Day 9: Kathmandu

In the morning visit to a major Buddhist center, Swayambhunath Stupa, very close to the center of Kathmandu. This temple is also known as the "Monkey Temple". You can experience the core Tibetan Buddhism, culture and way of life in the Boudhanath area. Later, visit the temple of Pashupatinath which is one of the most sacred temples for the Hindus. The temple of Pashupatinath is a large golden pagoda decorated with brass with a beautiful silver plated door. This place, also known as Little Benares, is located along the Bagmati River, here every day many funeral ceremonies take place with the bodies that are burnt on the piers before dedicating the ashes to the Bagmati.

Day 10: Goodbye

Transfer to the airport and end of our services.
