Legends Of Rajasthan Tour

Living witnesses of lavish and lush India, the palaces of the Maharajas still exert the same fascination today . Immerse yourself in the flavors of legendary India by visiting the palaces of Rajput princes and the inevitable Taj Mahal mausoleum , pledge of eternal love . You will also have the opportunity to view leopards in the wild. Itinerary:

 

Day 1 : Delhi
Welcome by a representative of Maharajah Driver and transfer to your hotel . Your driver will be at your disposal to accompany you to visit Humayun Tomb , Qutb Minar and the Lotus Temple.

 

Day 2 : Udaipur

Transfer to airport , flight to the most romantic city of Rajasthan. Founded in 1568 by Maharana Udai Singh , it remains one of the richest cities in all the treasures India has to offer. Surrounded by hills , it is reflected in three small lakes , the largest is the Pichola.

                                                                                                                           
Day 3 : Udaipur

Day dedicated to city tour - City Palace , the royal palace of Udaipur ; Saheliyon ki Bari , the garden of the bridesmaids ; The Jagdish temple, dedicated to Lord Vishnu  and a Boat ride on Lake Pichola.

 

Day 4 : Bera                                                                                                          

 Departure for an adventure in the heart of the desert, the Jawai Leopard Camp, Bera awaits you offering habitat of the wild leopard. After welcome and settling in the camp join the late afternoon safari to see leopards. Overnight in tent . Full board accommodation .

 

 Day 5 : Bera                                                                                                             

Spend the day in the heart of rural Rajasthan visiting a Bishnoi village and getting a glimpse of the culture and traditions of the people who are recognized as the first environmentalists . Visit a Dhurrie, cotton carpet manufacturer whose products are popular worldwide. The afternoon is free for leisure.

 

Day 6: Rohet

Visit the surprising Mihir Garh fort, built entirely of adobe, situated on top of a hill overlooking the desert. Its architecture is a harmonious combination of Moroccan and Mexican influences, while the interiors of the nine suites offers beautiful rare pieces of Rajasthan.

 

Day 7: Rohet

Outside the walls of Mihir Garh, indulge in total immersion at the heart of the rural heritage, lively and colorful Rajasthan. Enjoy safaris, camel rides, introduction to Indian cuisine, traditional dance performances, equestrian fantasias ... A unique and surprising experience of the desert.

 

Day 8: Jodhpur

Departure to Jodhpur, commonly known as the blue city as most of the houses in the old city are painted in that color. The blue indicates that these houses belonged to members of the Brahmin caste. Jodhpur is also called "the city of the sun" because of the sunshine it enjoys throughout the year. Start of discovering the winding lanes of Sardar Bazaar, the Spice Market.

 

Day 9: Jodhpur

Visit the imposing Mehrangarh Fort that completely dominates the city. The palace and the fort contain rich collections of palanquins, elephant sedans, musical instruments, costumes, furniture and weapons. The collection of firearms here is one of the most interesting in India. Several cenotaphs recall the sacrifice of brave Rajput warriors. There is also the signs of "sati", the women who chose to sacrifice himself after the loss of their husbands, rather than suffer the shame of captivity.

 

Day 10: Jaipur

Departure to Pushkar, small peaceful village built around a sacred lake, important place of pilgrimage for Hindus. Then drive to your destination of the day, Jaipur, called the "Pink City". The citywas founded by Jai Singh II in 1727, but in 1876, when the Prince of Wales, later King Edward VII, visited Jaipur, Maharaja Man Singh, decided to paint the houses pink in the city, as a sign of welcome to the prince. Jaipur is one of the most fascinating cities in northern India. The decorations of the buildings are of real lace stone and style of its buildings showcases a superb syncretism between the architectural elements of Rajasthan and Mughal.  

 

Day 11: Jaipur

In the morning, ascend to Amber Fort, the ancient Rajput capital, which is perched on the hills of Aravalli. This imposing, fort, honey-colored structure, reflects in the Maota Lake, located just outside of Jaipur. Following the tradition of former maharajas, you will climb, if you wish, on elephant back along a scenic route. Back to Jaipur. In the afternoon, visit  Jantar Mantar, an observatory built by Jai Singh II, the palace, the museum, the courtroom and  the magnificent Palace of Winds known as Hawa mahal.

 

Day 12: Agra

Going towards Agra , visit the magnificent Fatehpur Sikri , the former capital of the Mughal Empire under Akbar the Great. It is now uninhabited hence has earned name "ghost town" . It is certainly one of the best preserved archaeological complexes and is the representative of Mughal art . Continuing to Agra, visit Red Fort , gigantic building that overlooks the river Yamuna . It was started by Emperor Akbar in 1565 and completed by successive emperors. Visit the delightful mausoleum of Itimad -ud- Daulah or Baby Taj, an elegant marble monument encrusted " pietra dura" , built between 1622 and 1626 by order of Empress Nur Jahan.

 

Day 13: Delhi

And the moment you've been waiting for, visit the jewel of India, the hymn to love: The Taj Mahal. Everything has been said and written about this magnificent monument but nothing can compare to its view. There are no other words than "beautiful and breathtaking". Return to the capital and transfer to your hotel.  

 

Day 14: Delhi

This morning, stroll through the bustling streets of Old Delhi, formerly known as Shahjahanabad. Visit the imposing Red Fort and the busy streets of Chandni Chowk market, the Jama Masjid (the largest mosque in India), ending with the colorful spice market - a sensory experience. In the afternoon, through the majestic boulevards of New Delhi, you will see India Gate. Transfer to airport and end of our services.
